We are proud of our food and drink; after all we are a proper Yorkshire pub and serving the best quality food and drink we can, to every one of our customers is our job. Karen, Shelly, Mandy and Adam take special care with every meal we produce while Gary’s pride and joy is getting his beers just right (as you’ll see from our beer page and when you taste them). It is our greatest pleasure to see happy, (and full!) customers in our pub.
We like to add that little bit extra to make our food special: our proper home-made chips, the fresh seasonal vegetables we serve with our meals, the regularly changing home-made specials and our use of good, local, produce are all things we have introduced which our customers love.
We also have our spectacular sizzlers – a variety of sausages and other grills served on sizzling hot platters, they’re popular with our customers who like noisy food!
When telling you about our food we’ve got one final special treat for you; our famous Meat and Potato Pie, which is known and loved throughout the area – it must be true, the sign outside says so! We’ve been making this for ourselves and our family and friends, for ages and it gives us great pleasure to share it with you. Tasty local beef, finest Yorkshire ale and lovingly hand-crafted pastry – you really have to try it. If you’ve ever had a better one please tell us because we’d love to taste it.
You can eat in our busy, bustling bar or, if you want something a bit quieter, we have recently refurbished a lovely, cosy dining area for you. If you are looking for something a bit different, starting in the new year, in our Knowle Spring room we will be hosting a series of food theme nights based on different cuisines of the world and featuring home-made dishes and specially chosen wines.

A lot of our customers come to the New Inn to eat with us but we are just as keen to welcome those of you who just want a drink. We have already mentioned Gary’s well-kept Taylor’s ales but we have a full selection of other equally high quality products served with care and attention, including a well. chosen and unbelievably good value selection of wine. You could also warm-up with one of our speciality coffees or a glass of our own mulled wine.
Whatever it is you fancy to eat and drink we’re sure we can offer it so why not come and give us a try.
